Redbrick just made its return to Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers list! We’re celebrating with gratitude, pride, and a whole lot of team spirit.

This marks a big milestone for Redbrick…a couple of them actually.

We’re proud to share that Redbrick has been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for the 6th year in a row. The SME selection committee evaluates employers on 8 criteria: workplace; work atmosphere & social; health, financial, and family benefits; vacation & time off; employee communications; performance management; training & skills development; and community involvement.

This recognition means a lot to us because it highlights the values we prioritize every day, from our workplace culture and community involvement to the ways we support employee growth, wellbeing, and connection.

This exciting announcement follows a first for us earlier this year when we were officially named one of BC's Top 100 Employers for 2025! Recognition like this isn’t just about the award itself, although they are fun to celebrate, it’s about what’s behind the scenes: our people, our culture, and the care we put into building a workplace that feels good to be a part of.

It all starts with our community

At Redbrick, our foundation is community. We put this into action through volunteering in the cities where our offices are located, such as supporting FED Urban Agriculture or serving meals at Our Place Society, and also through the way we care for one another every day at work.

Nicole Peverley, one of our Shift software developers, put it best:

"It feels like my co-workers and I are all going in one direction together, making sure no one is left behind."

Nicole Peverley, Developer at Shift

That sense of unity? It’s what pushes us forward. Whether you’re a co-op student or a team lead, every Redbricker is encouraged to learn, grow, and take risks in an environment where it’s okay to fail forward.

We support career development at all stages with co-op programs, mentoring, continuous upskilling, and more. And we take that “whole person” approach seriously with flexible work schedules, family-first policies, and benefits that don’t just check boxes, but support the well-being of our people (yes, we will pay you to bike to work).

We have also implemented programs where our people have direct access to nutrition, fitness, and financial guidance resources to support them in all areas of their lives, not only at work.

Building a culture that reflects our values

From the start, we’ve been focused on building something different. In 2024, Redbrick became a Certified B Corp, and that felt like a big step forward. For us, supporting our people also means looking out for the world around us. Joining the global B Corp community means we’re part of a group of businesses using their influence for good, and that matters to us.

Impact doesn’t just happen on the big stage. It starts with how we work together and show up for each other every day in our offices and our field.

Here’s what that looks like for us:
  • Creating spaces where everyone feels seen and supported
  • Giving people the time and flexibility to take care of their health, families, and life outside of work
  • Helping to increase representation of women and people of diverse backgrounds in our offices and tech at large
  • Investing in the next generation through university hackathons and co-op placements

These aren’t just nice-to-haves, they’re built into how we do things. It’s why these recognitions from SME and BC Top Employers mean so much, they reflect the care we put into building a company that puts people first.

A huge thank you

We wouldn’t be here without our team, the talented, hardworking, and values-driven people who make Redbrick what it is.

This recognition as one of BC’s Top Employers and a Top SME Employer in Canada is a direct reflection of the culture that you contribute to creating every day. You show up, bring your best, and support one another, and that is what makes Redbrick a workplace and community where people really want to be.

So here’s to you. And here’s to what’s next.
